Acne Treatment at Innovative Medical Therapies

The first step in our acne treatment is using skincare products from ZO that are specially formulated for acne. The Complexion Clearing Program, paired with the new Complexion Clarifying Serum, consists of 5 products that work together to:

• Remove dead skin cells
• Stimulate healthy cell renewal
• Boost the skin’s natural production of collagen
• Calm and soothe inflamed and irritated skin

We recommend using this system for 2 weeks prior to adding other treatments.

Step 2: DYE-VL Laser Treatment

Our DYE-VL laser treatment effectively reduces oil production, inflammation, and redness from active breakouts. The treatment is quick and comfortable, with no downtime involved.

Step 3: ZO Chemical Peel

Next, we schedule a chemical peel from ZO. This mild procedure exfoliates and kills bacteria on the surface of the skin, allowing for better absorption of the acne-fighting ingredients in the skincare products. There is no downtime with this mild peel.

Step 4: Microdermabrasion or Micropeel

Finally, when there are no active acne lesions, we perform a microdermabrasion or micropeel treatment. This exfoliates any skin buildup and leaves the skin glowing. It can also help treat old acne scars.

Additional Care and Makeup Advice

Heavy makeup coverage, although tempting during a breakout, can be counterproductive, actually increasing the likelihood of continuing breakouts. We carry several options for tinted sunscreens that provide milder coverage that won’t undo the progress from the treatment process. If makeup is absolutely necessary, the best option is to use a mineral-based makeup series; we carry GloBeauty mineral makeup products as well.

Pharmaceutical Solutions

In the event that pharmaceuticals are indicated, Dr. Fisher can prescribe medication for those who are not under the care of another primary care physician or dermatologist.
